  • Agave and water for ginger syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Magic Spirits: Infuse vodka, tequila, and gin with butterfly pea flowers at least 24 hours in advance. This creates the color-changing magic that makes these cocktails absolutely spectacular!
  2. Make Special Ice: Prepare lemon ice (lemon juice + water) and tonic water ice by freezing overnight, then crushing in a blender. Store in freezer until needed.
  3. Create Ginger Syrup: Blend fresh ginger with water and agave, simmer for 30 minutes, then strain. This creates an incredible spicy-sweet base for the Magic Mule.
  4. Build the Kiwi Lime Julep: Muddle kiwi, mint, lime, and syrup in a julep cup. Add crème de menthe and ice, then carefully layer lime juice and butterfly pea vodka. Top with magic ice for the ultimate color-changing effect!
  5. Craft the Sunset Margarita: Salt the rim, add crushed lemon ice, then layer the citrus juices and triple sec. Using a spoon back, carefully float the butterfly pea tequila on top for that stunning sunset gradient.
  6. Mix the Raspberry Martini: Add frozen raspberries and ice to glass, combine lemon juice, syrup, and vermouth, then carefully layer the butterfly pea gin using a spoon for that perfect color separation.
  7. Create the Glow-in-the-Dark Mule: Fill glass with crushed tonic ice, add ginger syrup and lime juice, then top with butterfly pea vodka and tonic water. The tonic ice creates an incredible glow under blacklight!
  8. Present the Magic: Serve each cocktail with stirring sticks so guests can create the color-changing magic themselves. Watch their faces light up as the drinks transform from deep blue to vibrant purple and pink!

Notes

The secret to these magical cocktails is butterfly pea flowers, which contain natural anthocyanins that change color when mixed with acid. Plan ahead—the butterfly pea infusions need 24+ hours to develop that gorgeous blue color. Each cocktail creates different color transformations: blues to purples, pinks, and even clear! The Glow-in-the-Dark Mule actually glows under blacklight due to the quinine in tonic water. Make extra magic ice—guests will want seconds! These cocktails are perfect for parties, special occasions, or impressing a date. Store infused spirits in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
